Hellas Verona 2-0 Grosseto
Goal scorers: '32, '83 Cacia

The theme of the game was clear since the first minutes: Hellas Verona tried to make the game to gain three important points to the Serie A race while the visitors, Grosseto, hoped to hold the draw with a five men defense.
After few attempts, the gialloblu took the lead after '30 with Daniele Cacia who went past Bremec to beat him.
In the second half, Grosseto were more proactive but without causing great troubles to Rafael until Cacia scored his second of the day that gave Hellas the win.

Here's the live match commentary:

First half:
'8: good cross by Carrozza but nobody impact the ball;
'15: great central action by Maietta who serves Gomez that couldn't find the goal;
'30: Obodo has a great chance to finalize but his shot is horrible;
'32: GOOOAAAL!!! Martinho gives a brilliant ball to Cacia who is clever to go past Bremec and beat him: 1-0 Hellas;
'39: a real free-for-all in Hellas area and Sforzini is able to shot: high over the bar;
'44: Calderoni tries from 30 yards but Rafael easily blocks;

Second half:
'50: Laner tries from just outside the area: too high;
'55: Cacia with a personal action but Bremec saves;
'56: another free-for-all in Hellas area and Rafael blocks again;
'58: Lupoli shots but no problem for Rafael;
'60: Carrozza to Cacia who volleys the ball and Bremec saves;
'65: Bonanni tries from 25 yards: the ball goes just above the bar;
'66: great chance for Lupoli to level the game but his lob is too high;
'72: Grossi turn himself very well in the area, Bremec concedes a corner;
'77: Sforzini heads from a good position, luckily the ball is not in the goal, Rafael was beated;
'78: Cacia close to make it two but his lob is too short and weak and Bremec saves;
'83: GOOOAAAL!!! And it's Cacia again: Martinho from the right and Cacia scores, 2-0.

Michelangelo Albertazzi hasn't played a single minute in this Serie B but against Grosseto (tomorrow at 'Bentegodi') the young defender product of AC Milan academy might start from the first minute.
In the last trainings, aided by the fact that team mate Matteo Abbate is feverish, Albertazzi has been regularly tried by Andrea Mandorlini as a left full back with Cacciatore on the right.

Hallfredsson won't play tomorrow due to his employment with his National team and so Martinho will play as a midfielder and so the lineup changes are unavoidable.Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07186721774368298501noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8506020131586253882.post-39605847178998099372012-10-13T08:53:00.005+01:002012-10-13T08:53:43.005+01:00Hellas Verona-Grosseto, Abbattista to referee

The assistants will be Bagnoli and Del Giovane as the 4th official is Candussio.
Abbattista refereed the gialloblu twice in his career and both games ended with a 1-1: in Ferrara against Spal (Selva for the gialloblu and Meloni leveled the game in the last minutes) and in Pavia (Blanchard answered to Russo's great goal in the first half).Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07186721774368298501noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8506020131586253882.post-11402375808693667812012-10-10T12:37:00.001+01:002012-10-10T12:37:11.164+01:00Sandrà, Tachtsidis visited his former team-mates

Yesterday, at Sandrà training ground, there was a special visit for the gialloblu players.
In fact, the Greek midfielder Panagiotis Tachtsidis visited his former team-mates during yesterday's training ground, using the days off given by Roma manager Zdenek Zeman to his players.

Tachtsidis, who was wearing a black shirt and a pair of jeans, made some photos with his former team-mates and spoke a lot with the old and the new Hellas Verona players, such as Daniele Cacia and fellow countryman Vangelis Moras.Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07186721774368298501noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8506020131586253882.post-70620835081980415762012-10-09T13:37:00.003+01:002012-10-09T13:37:16.253+01:00National teams, three players unavailable for Grosseto

Three Hellas Verona players were called up by their National teams for the Qualification ties to the World Cup 2014 in Brazil.
We're talking about Emil Hallfredsson, Valeri Bojinov and Armin Bacinovic. The three players won't take part to Hellas Verona Sunday's home game against Grosseto.

In the group E, Hallfredsson, who was called up by Iceland, will face Albania in Tirana and Switzerland in Reykjavik.

In the other game of the group E, Bacinovic's Slovenia is going to play the first game at home against Cyprus and the second game in Albania.

Finally, in the group B, the same group as Italy, Bojinov will face Denmark in Sofia and Czech Republic away with his Bulgaria.

The first games will be played Friday 12th October while the second on Tuesday 16th October.
All of them will be available for Hellas Verona from Wednesday morning.Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07186721774368298501noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8506020131586253882.post-59285826241999910922012-10-09T11:18:00.000+01:002012-10-09T11:18:16.550+01:00Under 21, Devis Mangia didn't call up Jorginho for the playoffs

Devis Mangia was at the 'Euganeo' stadium last Friday.
The Under 21 manager, in former times at Varese primavera before take over the Palermo bench, is an admirer of Hellas Verona midfielder Jorginho who became Italian last week and is then eligible for the National team.

But Mangia didn't call up the young midfielder. In fact, his integration will be gradual and after the double tie against Sweden Under 21 in Pescara the 12th October and in Kalmar the 16th.
Hellas Verona can then sigh with relief because after losing Hallfredsson, Bacinovic and Bojinov for the next game against Grosseto, at least Jorginho is available. Andrea Mandorlini was certainly annoyed after losing in Padova in the 94th minute. Here's his thoughts about the game: "We made the game, always trying to win it, the mistakes are part of the game and this time we paid them. I'm so much angry, because I don't think the team deserved to lose tonight. We had few chances to close the game and we need to be more cynic. A two-faced Verona? Sometimes it comes about that we start very well and then we let ourself down. We don't have to think how good we can play, this is a signal of no humbleness and I don't like it at all. Hallfredsson's substitution? He played well, but we didn't stop playing after we changed him. Bojinov? I thought it was the right moment, the team was creating a lot without finalizing. I tried to win the game but in retrospect it was better to put in a defender. We need to concentrate on Grosseto now. Tough defeat? Yes, we need to be more humble, I think that the defeats don't help a team, I want always to win".Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07186721774368298501noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8506020131586253882.post-55009557377406848282012-10-08T13:11:00.002+01:002012-10-08T13:23:10.167+01:00Pagelle, Padova 2-1 Hellas Verona

Andrea Mandorlini in Padova

Rafael 6: The Brazilian goalkeeper is completely blameless in the two goals scored by Padova. He then saves a dangerous shot by Rafael and one volley tries by Granoche. Honestly he did not have so many work.

Cacciatore 6: The former Sampdoria defender plays a good game holding back both Renzetti and the awaited Cutolo. He did not push too much like we saw in the last game. In the second half Mandorlini put him on the right.

Maietta 5.5: Not a great game by the captain. Although Padova second goal was an error by Moras, he was too slow on covering Raimondi. Honestly Mimmo didn't play a good game.

Moras 5: The Greek made a bad error on Padova's goal sliding down and allowing Raimondi to shot. Until that moment he played a sufficient game. A bit unlucky and a bit careless at the end of the game: from a player of his experience it is not allow.

Martinho 5.5: Today the workaholic Brazilian on loan from Catania and the run's valve seems turned off. He attacked just three times in the whole game. On Padova's first goal he had to mark Farias.
('84: Bojinov sv)

Laner 5.5: He'd be the Hellas Verona man of the match if we would calculate it in based of the will but Friday night he was too slow and without ideas.

Jorginho 6: First game as an Italian citizen for the young Brazilian born midfielder that controls the whole midfield without any problems. Same solidity and precision but the usual football intelligence he showed us is missed by the whole team.

Hallfredsson 6.5: Definitely the best gialloblu player. The Icelandic scored an important goal after just '6 minutes and then he starts some good actions and he gives many times some troubles to Padova defense. Unexplainable his substitution.
('73 Abbate 5: Matteo shares the mistake in Padova's second goal with Moras)

Gomez 4.5: The invisible man. Clearly one of the best player in the whole team but Juanito is far relative of the player we use to know. The mark must be interpret like a spur on because we know his amazing skills.

Cacia 6: He does what he can. The Catanzaro born forward shots three times and takes up Silvestri few times with his perfect headers, especially on the first half. He doesn't have any particular sin because he doesn't see the ball too much.

Rivas 4.5: Same thing as Gomez. He didn't play for Hellas last season but the essence doesn't change: a different player to the one we saw with Varese last year and with Bari before. We know how decisive he can be.
('55 Carrozza 6.5: A ferret. The winger is very fast and fit. When he comes in for Rivas he showed all his best causing some apprehensions to Padova defense)

Mandorlini 5: Verona start well the match but after the goal the gialloblu disappear. Bojinov came in too late and for the wrong player. With Gomez and Rivas not at their usual level why not conceding an opportunity to Carrozza? Playing a 4-2-4 away for ten minutes it's a bit too much imprudent and in fact Padova goal came from a counter attack. Finally, Hallfredsson substitution was unexplainable as we said earlier.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8506020131586253882.post-58952909233070441042012-10-08T12:09:00.004+01:002012-10-08T12:09:34.242+01:00Padova 2-1 Hellas Verona

Hellas Verona lost his first game of the seasonlast Friday against Padova at the 'Euganeo' stadium.

The gialloblu took the lead after only '6 with a powerful shot by Icelandic midfielder Hallfredsson who beats Silvestri. At the end of the first half, former Hellas player Farias levels the score with a perfect shot from the middle of the area.
The second half is less spectacular than the first half with Hellas and Padova that won't have lot of occasions until the 94th minute when the biancoscudati finalize a counter attack with substitute Raimondi.
'17: Padova try to reply with Viviani's shot but it is too high;
'20: Cutolo from 20 years, great save by Rafael:
'33: Cacia tries from the limit of the area, the shot is touched by a defender and the ball goes in corner;
'34: Goal for Padova. Farias levels for the home side: in the middle of the area the Brazilian beats Rafael with a perfect shot;
'41: Rivas tries but Silvestri is well positioned;
'45: Maietta tries a bicycle kick but it's gone over the bar.
The last two victories gave positive sensations to the gialloblu supporters and to the whole team as well.
Andrea Mandorlini analysed the game: "There's great enthusiasm. We're feeling it and we want that it keeps on growing. There will be more than 2,000 Verona fans in this derby, this is another demonstration of attachment to the team".

There won't be particular changes in the starting lineup but a question about the scheme used in the last minute against Bari (4-2-4) was inevitable: "That was not the key of our win. What it really counts is the behavior of the lads in the pitch. I want to see the same determination".

Finally he spoke about Jorginho who became Italian three days ago: "I'm very happy for him. But I hope the National team won't call him so often: we have some deflections each times so I don't want to lose him as well".Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07186721774368298501noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8506020131586253882.post-23677119572288453952012-10-03T17:06:00.000+01:002012-10-03T17:06:29.946+01:00National teams, three Hellas Verona players called up for next week's games

Valeri Emil Bojinov released a small interview last Saturday after his late winning goal against Bari at 'Bentegodi': "I'm very happy we won today, for me, for the teammates, who help me a lot and for the club. The three points were so important today because now we gave continuity to Varese win. Our performance? The win was worth than everything even if we didn't play bad. My goal against Bari? That's true, for me it counts even more because I played three amazing seasons with Lecce and this goal is a bit for them. I'd like to say that Rafael was fundamental today because he saved us. I told them to keep on doing the great job. We found the winning goal in the last minutes and I think we deserved it. I risked when I changed the tactical scheme, because we were very offensive, but we won and this is the most important thing".

The manager, who lost his voice during the game, continued: "These kind of victories are very useful for the group. We can improve even more but by now I'm really happy". It will be Leonardo Baracani of Florence the referee that tonight will direct the big match of the 6th Serie B game week.
Baracani, who was born the 7th March 1974, refereed 99 caps among Serie A, Serie B and Coppa Italia, and after 31 games he was promoted from Lega Pro.

The referee directed two times the gialloblu: a defeat against Foggia at 'Zaccheria' (2-0 the 21st October 2007 in Serie C) and a draw in last season's Serie B in Gubbio for 1-1 (the 1st October 2011).

In his career he gave 433 yellow cards, 24 red cards and he conceded 19 penalties.Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07186721774368298501noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8506020131586253882.post-80645817492807777752012-09-25T12:57:00.002+01:002012-09-25T13:40:35.772+01:00Mandorlini ahead of Varese: "We have some deflections but we're
self-confident"

Andrea Mandorlini

source: Hellas1903.it

Andrea Mandorlini looked a bit afflict when he remembered about Novara game: "In the second half we had a wrong attitude, we defended too much. But they've equalized thank to an error of our goalkeeper, we conceded nothing much. This Hellas have never lost, I like this team: I'm very happy of what we're doing".

The manager of Ravenna started in that way his press conference ahead of Varese tie: "We're going to plat against a tough opponent that is in Serie B high positions since years. We have some deflections, lot of injuries, and we're going there with only 19 players included three goalkeepers: the situation is this one but we're ready".

It's difficult to theorize a turnover: "Lot of players will miss the game, so it won't be easy. But we're a strong team, we never give up. Everybody has problems, even in Serie A I saw them clearly. But we must insist, knowing that we're improving day after day".Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07186721774368298501noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8506020131586253882.post-20940934360176197292012-09-25T12:39:00.001+01:002012-09-25T12:39:44.275+01:0019 players called up to face Varese

Hellas Verona will travel to Varese tomorrow night to face the biancorossi at Masnago.

Fabrizio Castori has got some lineup problem as Brazilian striker Neto Pereira and winger Enis Nadarevic are not available for the tie. Both players didn't play last Saturday in Varese away win against Juve Stabia.

Even Nigerian forward Giulio Ebagua is in doubt for tomorrow game as he was substituted in Castellammare di Stabia for an ache.

Ebagua, who was close to join Hellas in the last transfer market, scored three goals in three Serie B games this season. If he won't recover, Eusepi and Momentè will start from the first minute.Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07186721774368298501noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8506020131586253882.post-71191927063405357412012-09-24T17:05:00.000+01:002012-09-24T17:05:32.325+01:00Crespo not available for Varese

Nothing to do for Josè Angel Crespo.
The Spanish full back won't take part to tomorrow away game in Varese due to an injury suffered against Reggina.

Rivas and Grossi, who didn't play last Friday, are in doubt, while Cocco, who might be called up against Bari, and the usual Pugliese are definitely not available.Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07186721774368298501noreply@blogger.com0
